Why Did IOTA (IOTA) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

Nasdaq futures weakened amid renewed doubts about the sustainability of AI earnings, while Brent crude reached a five-month high and geopolitical concerns weighed on risk appetite. Bitcoin and Ethereum fell about 3.5% over the same period, broadly in line with IOTA, suggesting its decline was more consistent with pressure across the crypto market than with an IOTA-specific catalyst. IOTA’s smaller market capitalization and relatively thin liquidity may amplify market moves, but do not by themselves establish the scale or specific cause of selling. On 2026-10-22, the historical order-book depth ratio across the top five levels was 2.78, with more buy orders; however, the buy and sell walls were at $0.04482 and $0.0456, respectively. This showed static bid support alongside overhead supply, but could not confirm a rebound. The 1-hour RSI was in oversold territory and ADX was 32.28, indicating some strength in the downtrend; oversold conditions only suggest the possibility of a technical recovery. The 4-hour MACD showed a bearish crossover while moving averages remained bullish, leaving mixed signals.

About IOTA (IOTA)

Iota is a new type of digital cryptocurrency, which focuses on solving the problem of machine to machine (M2M) transactions. The blueprint of future machineeconomy will be built by realizing the payment of no transaction fees between machines. Iota provides efficient, secure, portable, real-time micro transactions without transaction costs. It is an open-source, decentralized digital cryptocurrency, specially designed for the Internet of things. It is a real-time micro transaction and can be easily extended. Iota goes beyond blockchain technology. It is the first cryptocurrency for the whole ecosystem based on non blockchain technology. Iota may be regarded as another kind of counterfeit currency, but the fact is that iota is far from being a counterfeit currency. It goes beyond blockchain technology and is an extension of blockchain technology. Iota is based on tangle rather than blockchain technology.

Use Cases and Features

IOTA is the native token of the programmable IOTA blockchain. It is used to pay the Gas fees required to execute transactions and can be used for delegated staking and participation in network governance. The network supports smart contracts and composable on-chain assets; when an on-chain object is created, some IOTA is locked as a storage deposit and can be redeemed after the object is deleted.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

The initial supply at the launch of the IOTA Rebased mainnet was 4.6 billion tokens, with no preset cap on total or circulating supply. Up to 767,000 new IOTA can be minted in each epoch (about one day) to reward validators and delegators that maintain network security; network transactions burn a small portion of tokens to offset part of the new supply.
