About Interest Compounding ETH Index (ICETH)
Use Cases and Features
ICETH gives leveraged exposure to Ethereum staking yield through a strategy that deposits stETH in Aave as collateral, borrows ETH, exchanges the borrowed ETH for more stETH, and deposits the additional stETH back into Aave. The resulting yield accrues to ICETH’s token price, not to holders’ wallet balances as additional tokens. The strategy is profitable in ETH terms only while stETH staking yield is greater than the cost of borrowing ETH on Aave. Fluctuations in the stETH-to-ETH exchange rate can also affect profitability.
Supply and Issuance Mechanism
The product’s token units can be issued and redeemed through DebtIssuanceModuleV2. The initial supply cap listed in a 2022 launch introduction was 15,000, a historical parameter stated at that time. It should not be read as the current supply, nor does it establish the rules governing issuance today.
