What is HFT?

Hashflow is a trading protocol based on a request-for-quote (RFQ) liquidity network; HFT's primary role is not to serve as the quoted asset in a trade, but to support protocol governance. These two functional layers should be understood separately: the RFQ mechanism determines how traders obtain and execute quotes, while the HFT governance mechanism determines how the community makes decisions about the protocol's future. Holding or locking HFT does not mean directly owning a share of a liquidity pool.

What is the role of Hashflow's request-for-quote mechanism?

Under Hashflow's RFQ model, liquidity providers first provide a specific quote, and users can decide whether to trade based on that quote before execution; the transaction is then settled on-chain at the quoted terms. This differs from approaches in which prices are continuously calculated first by an automated liquidity-pool curve: the quote is an explicit condition before trade execution. This mechanism places pricing responsibility on the market maker submitting the quote: the maker decides the price and size at which it is willing to trade, and settlement begins only after the user accepts the quote. A clear quote does not mean market risk is absent; quote availability, spreads, and executable size can still change with market conditions and liquidity providers' willingness.

What governance can HFT holders participate in?

HFT governance uses a vote-escrowed (ve) model: voting power is determined jointly by the amount of HFT locked and the lock duration. Simply holding HFT does not automatically indicate how much governance weight a holder has; the tokens must be staked and locked to enter this governance calculation mechanism. This design links longer-term locking commitments with greater voting power. The documentation lists protocol fees, market expansion, and code development among governance areas; these are collective decisions on protocol rules and resource direction, not promises of individual trading returns.

How was HFT initially allocated?

HFT had a genesis supply of 1 billion tokens. In the initial allocation, 53.18% was designated for ecosystem development, 25% for early investors, 19.32% for the core team, and 2.5% was reserved for future hiring. Allocation percentages describe attribution arrangements for categories and cannot be directly equated with tradable circulating supply at a given time. The ecosystem development category covers uses such as community, partners, and liquidity, so its economic role differs from the team or early-investor categories. To assess the actual market impact of supply, the unlock timing for each category must also be considered rather than treating the entire 1 billion genesis supply as immediately circulating.

How are HFT unlocks and subsequent issuance arranged?

HFT supply release has two phases: staggered unlocks after genesis and steady-state issuance after four years. Initial circulating supply at genesis was 175,229,156 tokens, or 17.52% of total supply, while the remaining allocated categories enter circulation according to their respective rules. Both the team and early investors vest 25% one year after TGE; the team's remaining 75% vests linearly each day over the following three to five years, while investors' remaining 75% vests linearly each day over the following three years. Ecosystem partners likewise vest 25% after one year and the remainder linearly each day over the following three years; Hashverse rewards are distributed linearly over four years. The schedules differ by category, so the unlock rule for one category cannot be applied to all HFT. After four years, the design provides for HFT to enter steady-state issuance of 4% per year. This 4% is a rule for issuance in subsequent years and should not be confused with the 1 billion-token genesis supply or the amount circulating on a particular day.
