GTETH (GTETH) Price

GTETH is a receipt-type asset used by Gate's ETH staking service to account for staked users and distribute returns. After users stake ETH through this service, they receive GTETH at a ratio of 1 GTETH for 1 ETH; this conversion ratio describes the relationship for the initial principal and does not mean that the yield rate is fixed. The core product flow is: stake ETH and receive GTETH, receive staking returns denominated in GTETH based on GTETH holdings, and finally redeem GTETH for ETH at 1:1. GTETH's uses and redemption arrangements are limited to Gate's ETH staking product rules and should not be equated with Ethereum's native ETH or with all liquid-staking tokens across chains.

In Gate's ETH staking service, submitting ETH for staking results in GTETH at a 1:1 ratio: staking 1 ETH corresponds to receiving 1 GTETH. The product page shows a minimum participation threshold of 0.00000001 ETH. The 1:1 ratio is the conversion rule between ETH and the initial amount of GTETH at the time of staking; returns are not reflected by changing this initial conversion ratio, but are instead distributed separately in GTETH. Users should therefore distinguish between “the initial amount of GTETH received” and “subsequently added GTETH returns.” Submitted staking orders cannot be canceled.

GTETH returns are distributed in GTETH: after a user stakes, the product page states that returns are distributed daily; if staking occurs on day D, the first interest payment is distributed on day D+1. Returns are neither a fixed rate nor additional principal exchanged at 1:1. The page provides the following estimated relationship: Returns = GTETH holdings × estimated daily annualized return ÷ 365 × (1 − service fee rate × [1 − discount]). Yes. Gate's page states that GTETH can be redeemed for ETH at 1:1 at any time; after redemption is completed, ETH is credited to the account immediately. Here, 1:1 refers to the in-product redemption ratio between GTETH and ETH. Redemption and claiming returns should be distinguished: the page also states that GTETH returns can be claimed at any time to receive ETH, but submitted staking or redemption orders cannot be canceled. Therefore, the key process difference is that “new redemption or staking can be initiated at any time” does not mean “an order already submitted can be withdrawn”; the amount should be confirmed before submission.

GTETH is the name adopted after Gate upgraded its original ETH2 staking derivative token. On September 18, 2025, Gate converted ETH2 at 1:1 and renamed it GTETH, with the purpose of unifying staking derivative assets under the GT series naming. This change was an upgrade to the asset name and token system within the platform, not an exchange of ETH2 for ETH of a different value: the announcement specified a 1:1 conversion ratio. During the upgrade, ETH2/ETH and ETH2/USDT spot trading were suspended and open orders were canceled; after the upgrade was completed, the original ETH2 was displayed as GTETH on relevant pages, and staking and redemption functions in on-chain earn products resumed under the new name.

GTETH's estimated annualized return changes, so the percentage displayed on the page should not be treated as a fixed return. The direct reason is that the page calculates an estimate daily based on the total rewards earned by Gate validators on the Ethereum network and on-chain staked principal; changes in rewards first alter the estimated daily annualized return and then affect the additional returns associated with holding GTETH. Holding quantity, applicable service fees, and discounts also affect the return amount calculated by users under the formula. Therefore, the estimated annualized return reflects an estimation method at a specific point in time; it neither guarantees the same result each following day nor independently indicates the final amount of GTETH a user will receive.
