Why Did Grin (GRIN) Rise in the Last 24 Hours?

At 02:00 UTC on 2026-11-05, the candlestick interval recorded just 1 unit of volume and no price movement, indicating limited trading activity at that time; this historical snapshot does not represent the current order book. The top-five-level bid-to-ask depth ratio was 1.10, broadly balanced, although a large bid at 0.0116 was much bigger than orders at other levels and could provide short-term support. A single snapshot cannot establish the intent behind an order. Technical signals were neutral to weak: the 4-hour moving averages leaned bearish, but trend strength was limited, and MACD showed no crossover on any timeframe. Low liquidity can magnify the price effect of small trades, but these data alone do not establish the cause of the move.

About Grin (GRIN)

Grin is an open source software project to implement the mimblewimble blockchain, and fills in some necessary things (missing in the mimblewimble protocol) to implement a complete blockchain and cryptocurrency. The main purposes and features of the grin project are as follows: the default feature of privacy protection. This makes it completely replaceable and retains the ability to selectively disclose information on demand. The block size matches the transaction volume. Only about 100 bytes of transaction kernel is reserved for historical transactions, which saves a lot of space compared with other block links. Powerful and proven cryptography. Mimblewimble only uses elliptic curve cryptography, which has been tried and tested for decades. Simple design makes it easy to review and maintain the code in the future. Community driven. A mining algorithm that resists ASIC (cuckoo cycle algorithm) is adopted to encourage decentralized mining.

Use Cases and Features

Grin is a privacy-focused digital cash network based on Mimblewimble. GRIN is used for on-chain transfers and to pay transaction fees. Transaction amounts and conventional on-chain addresses are not directly disclosed; transactions can also be aggregated in blocks and spent intermediate data removed, balancing privacy with blockchain data size. Senders and receivers must exchange transaction data to complete a payment together. Wallets usually communicate through Tor and can also use Slatepack encrypted text messages.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

GRIN has linear issuance: one new coin is issued per second, and issuance continues with no premine, ICO, founder rewards, or development tax. Block rewards include newly issued block subsidies and transaction fees; the ongoing subsidy is intended to provide long-term mining incentives for the proof-of-work network. As a result, total supply increases over time, while new supply gradually becomes a smaller proportion of the existing supply.
