Fractal Bitcoin (FB) Price

FB is the native token of the Fractal Bitcoin network and the Gas asset used to execute transactions on that network. It is not BTC on the Bitcoin main chain: when users transfer assets or call an application on Fractal, they pay the transaction fee on the Fractal network in FB; BTC remains the native asset of the Bitcoin main chain. Fractal aims to retain Bitcoin’s code, addresses, and ecosystem tools as far as possible while increasing available block space through recursively scaled networks. Compatibility therefore lowers the barrier for existing Bitcoin tools to connect to Fractal, but it does not mean BTC and FB can automatically be exchanged without the relevant cross-chain or product process.

FB settles the execution resources consumed by transactions on the Fractal network, namely Gas fees. When submitting a transaction, users specify the fee they are willing to pay; miners that validate and package transactions prioritize transactions that meet their fee requirements, and the final fee depends on the transaction’s actual execution on Fractal. This arrangement ties network-use costs to Fractal’s own block space: when transaction or application activity increases, the fees users pay to compete for block space may change. Paying Gas on Fractal is not the same as paying a Bitcoin main-chain transaction fee; an operation involving other chains may also incur fees on those chains.

Fractal uses an alternating mining arrangement called Cadence Mining: three consecutive blocks are produced through Bitcoin merged mining, followed by one block open to permissionless mining, and this sequence then repeats. Merged miners can submit Fractal proof of work while mining Bitcoin, whereas the permissionless phase lets miners that are not attached to that process compete to produce blocks. A block accepted by the network generates the protocol-defined block subsidy and may earn the FB fees paid by transactions in that block. Under the allocation design in the official FAQ, merged mining and permissionless mining each receive 50% of block rewards; therefore, the three-to-one block-production rhythm does not mean the two participant groups receive newly issued FB in the same proportion as block counts. Whether a miner receives a particular block’s reward depends on producing a valid block that is accepted by the chain during the applicable phase.

FB has a supply cap of 21 million tokens and follows a halving schedule of approximately once every two years. A halving does not cut existing FB holdings in half; instead, it reduces the new block subsidy that can be generated for each subsequent block, slowing the rate of new issuance. Supply should therefore distinguish among the cap, the amount already minted, and the amount available for trading. The cap sets the maximum FB that can be produced over the long term; mining and block rewards determine how new FB enters the system; and holding, transferring, or locking affects the amount that is tradable at a given time. A halving changes only future subsidies and does not ensure proportionate changes in price, circulating availability, or miner revenue, because transaction fees, participants, and market conditions also affect outcomes.

Fractal is designed as a Bitcoin-compatible network, using the same address format as Bitcoin and seeking compatibility with Bitcoin’s core rules and infrastructure. This makes its usage model easier to understand for users familiar with Bitcoin wallets, development patterns, and asset standards. Compatibility does not mean that every Bitcoin wallet, service, or address already supports Fractal. Before transferring assets, the receiving party or wallet must explicitly select the Fractal network; mistaking an identical address format for an identical network can cause assets not to appear as expected or require an additional recovery process.

Fractal increases block space in a Bitcoin-compatible environment through recursively scaled networks: one Fractal layer can form subsequent layers on top of it, so capacity expansion does not depend only on the blocks of a single chain. FB is the native asset used to pay fees and access network services within these Fractal layers. This structure addresses the design goal of supporting more transactions and applications while retaining a Bitcoin-compatible experience; it does not directly alter Bitcoin main-chain consensus rules. When operating across different layers or networks, users should confirm where their assets are located, the bridge or transfer route being used, and the applicable fees. The recursive architecture itself does not remove the conditions and risks of cross-network operations.

The official FAQ identifies FB as a native asset that can be used for network services, ecosystem use, and governance. Whether a specific service requires paying, holding, or locking FB is not automatically determined by the fact of holding FB; it depends on the current rules of the relevant application or governance mechanism. FB’s network uses should therefore not be understood as fixed returns or automatic eligibility for every service simply through holding it. Before using a service, users should separately check the network on which the service operates, its fee rules, eligibility conditions, and whether assets will be locked; these conditions may differ from simply paying a Gas fee.
