Why Did Eigenlayer (EIGEN) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

EigenCloud’s AI-inference ecosystem narrative is longer-term context and does not directly explain EIGEN’s short-term weakness. SharpLink’s ETH deployment into restaking-related protocols is likewise more of a long-term ecosystem signal, while the reported impairment loss on staked tokens may weigh on sentiment toward the sector. The one-hour candle at 13:00 UTC on 2026-10-23 showed a brief hold near the low followed by a modest rebound, but volume was low. The order book at that time had a concentrated buy order at $0.2166 that could provide support and a concentrated sell order at $0.2191 that could act as resistance. Moving averages were bearish on the 15-minute and 4-hour intervals and neutral on the other listed intervals; RSI was neutral and ADX was below 25, indicating limited trend strength rather than confirming a sustained one-way move.

About Eigenlayer (EIGEN)

EigenLayer is a protocol built on Ethereum that introduces restaking, a new primitive in cryptoeconomic security. This primitive enables the reuse of ETH on the consensus layer. Users that stake ETH natively or with a liquid staking token (LST) can opt-in to EigenLayer smart contracts to restake their ETH or LST and extend cryptoeconomic security to additional applications on the network to earn additional rewards.

Use Cases and Features

EIGEN is the EigenLayer ecosystem token. It complements ETH restaking by providing cryptoeconomic security for Actively Validated Services (AVSs), and can be staked to support services using this security model.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

EIGEN has an initial total supply of 1,673,646,668.28466 tokens, excluding subsequent inflationary issuance. The initial allocation is 45% to the community, 29.5% to investors, and 25.5% to early contributors. Inflationary issuance initially equals 4% of the initial supply per year for eligible participants and may be changed by governance.
