Why Did Convex Finance (CVX) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

Short-term technical signals for Convex Finance’s CVX were weak, but indicators differed across timeframes: moving averages were bearish on the 15-minute and 4-hour charts, while the daily moving average remained bullish. RSI was neutral, there was no MACD crossover, and ADX was below 28, indicating limited trend strength. In the order book for 2026-10-25 to 2026-10-26, buy volume across the top five levels exceeded sell volume, but a concentrated sell wall at $2.388 represented about 42% of sell volume and could limit a rebound. Total depth across those levels was only about 1,275 CVX, so relatively small trades could cause larger price movements. Missing volume data prevents assessing the extent of market participation in the selling. As longer-term context, Convex TVL had fallen from its January 2022 peak of $21.2B to 3.8% of that peak, reflecting pressure on the protocol’s share and the Curve ecosystem; this does not establish a direct trigger for the decline in that period.

About Convex Finance (CVX)

CVX is the native platform token of convex finance. Platform fees can be obtained by pledging CVX. The pledged CVX will receive part of its platform fee in the form of cvxcrv (token vecrv). CVX rewards CRV subscribers and curve in proportion according to the CRV generated by the platform Fi liquidity pool.

Use Cases and Features

CVX is the platform token of Convex Finance and can be staked to receive a share of platform fees; related fees are distributed in forms such as cvxCRV. Users can also lock CVX for at least 16 weeks to create a vote-locked position, allowing participation in Convex proposals and related governance votes for Curve, Frax, and others, such as determining the allocation of reward weights. These voting rights can generally only be exercised after locking.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

CVX has a maximum supply of 100 million tokens. Its allocation includes 50% for Curve liquidity providers, distributed in proportion to CRV rewards earned through the Convex platform; 25% for liquidity mining over four years; and shares for the treasury, investors, team, and early veCRV holders. The amount of CVX minted per CRV earned declines proportionally, and the CVX/CRV minting ratio decreases for every additional 100,000 CVX.
