Why Did Aptos (APT) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

On 2026-10-28, Aptos introduced Confidential Assets, using zero-knowledge proofs to conceal transfer amounts while keeping sender and recipient addresses public. This can support private payments for use cases such as payroll and supplier terms; broader adoption depends on subsequent use. Former adviser Buzz left after his contract expired and sold his APT holdings. Community frustration over short-term selling at the top also reflected pressure on holder confidence. Some members chose to stake, reducing active selling supply while also indicating weaker short-term trading appetite. In the report window, the order-book bid-to-ask depth ratio was 4.41, with bids concentrated near 0.697 and a larger sell order near 0.699, suggesting concentrated orders in a shallow book could constrain a rebound. Short-term moving averages were bullish but RSI was neutral; the daily moving average was bearish and ADX stood at 12.02, leaving the overall direction unclear.

About Aptos (APT)

Aptos is an independent, high-performance PoS Layer 1 project focused on delivering the world's secure, scalable Layer 1 blockchain. The Aptos blockchain utilizes the Move programming language and the Move virtual machine for application development, creating and optimizing blockchain use cases.

Use Cases and Features

APT is the native token of the Aptos blockchain. It is used to pay transaction fees and can be used to interact with on-chain applications. Aptos is designed with scalability, security, reliability, and upgradeability in mind, supporting applications for payments, finance, digital content, and other on-chain use cases. Holders can also participate in staking by delegating to validators to help maintain network consensus.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

APT had an initial total supply of 1 billion tokens when the Aptos mainnet launched. Its initial allocation covered the community, core contributors, the foundation, and investors. At the time, the official release schedule provided for ten-year releases for the community and foundation, along with four-year lockups and phased unlocks for contributors and investors. Staking rewards affect total supply, and related parameters can be adjusted through on-chain governance.
