Why Did Aleo (ALEO) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

The order book was tilted toward sellers: the bid-to-ask depth ratio across the top five levels was 0.46, with total ask volume about 2.2 times total bid volume, indicating weaker near-term buying support. A single snapshot, however, cannot establish sustained selling pressure or seller intent. Technical signals on 2026-10-26 were mixed: moving averages were weak on the 15-minute and 4-hour timeframes but positive on the daily timeframe, while RSI was neutral across timeframes and MACD showed no crossover. The 1-hour ADX was just 11.3, indicating weak trend strength. Thus, order-book imbalance and low activity provide a context for short-term pressure, but the conflicting indicators do not point to a clear, persistent one-way trend. Aleo is positioned as a privacy Layer 1 using zero-knowledge proof technology; that project characteristic is not direct evidence of the short-term order-book movement.

About Aleo (ALEO)

Aleo is a developer platform for building fully private, scalable, and cost-effective applications. It uses zero-knowledge cryptography to move smart contract execution off-chain, enabling a diverse range of decentralized applications that are both entirely private and can scale up to thousands of transactions per second.

Use Cases and Features

ALEO is the native asset of the Aleo network and can be used to pay for the block space and computing resources required to submit transactions. Validators receive rewards by producing blocks and confirming network state, while provers participate in reward distribution by submitting computational proofs; holders can also stake ALEO to validators to help maintain network security and participate in network rewards according to their delegated share. Staking and proving rewards can change with network rules and participation.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

1.5 billion ALEO were minted at genesis in September 2024. New tokens mainly come from block rewards and coinbase rewards: the former are paid to validators and their delegators, while the latter are distributed to provers and validators based on proof contributions per block. Coinbase rewards decline on a ten-year schedule; ARC-0047 sets a maximum total supply of 5 billion, with no further issuance after the specified block height is reached.
