Why Did AAVE (AAVE) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

On 2026-10-24, an institutional address that had been dormant for more than a year transferred 156,690 AAVE and deposited 62,000 of them at an exchange. A deposit does not establish that a sale took place, but it can raise concerns about potential additional supply. Aave V4 introduced institutional lending markets for RLUSD, PYUSD, and OUSD on Ethereum, expanding institutional DeFi use cases. The DAO retains contract ownership, risk adjustments have a 48-hour timelock, and the DAO receives 50% of instance revenue. These arrangements relate more to long-term governance and value capture, and may not offset near-term selling concerns. RSI readings on the 15-minute, 1-hour, and 4-hour timeframes were in oversold territory, indicating the possibility of a short-term rebound. The 1-hour ADX pointed to a strong downtrend, while the daily moving average remained bearish, so oversold readings alone do not confirm a trend reversal.

About AAVE (AAVE)

Through the improvement proposal (AIP1), AAVE converted the AAVE platform token land to AAVE in a ratio of 100:1 on october3,2020 (block height 10978863). AAVE is an open source decentralized lending agreement that provides users with deposit and lending services. The deposit interest rate and loan interest rate of users on both sides of the loan are calculated by algorithm according to the loan amount and deposit amount of the platform, and the platform uses chainlink's Oracle machine to ensure the fairness of the collateral price.

Use Cases and Features

AAVE is the native governance token of the Aave Protocol. Holders can vote directly or delegate proposal and voting power to other Ethereum addresses to participate in governance decisions such as protocol deployments, parameter adjustments, and features. AAVE can also be staked in the Safety Module to provide backstop protection for system risk events and earn corresponding rewards; subject to market rules, it may also be used as collateral for lending and borrowing.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

AAVE is an ERC-20 token deployed on Ethereum. Official materials emphasize its governance and ecosystem uses rather than describing it as an interest-bearing receipt in lending markets. AAVE purchased through the Aave DAO buyback program enters the DAO ecosystem reserve and is used for governance-approved rewards, grants, or service-provider programs, rather than being directly burned.
