Pi Network Community Divided: The Transparency War Among Influencers Heats Up
The Pi Network community is currently witnessing a public conflict between two prominent voices: Dave Rosco and Dr. Altcoin. What started as a disagreement over blockchain wallet data has escalated into a heated exchange about the integrity, transparency, and future direction of the Pi project. This debate touches on deeper disappointments within the community, particularly surrounding unfulfilled promises, the movement of tokens, and how the core team communicates with its users. Dave Rosco Opposes "Misleading Information" In a recent YouTube video, Dave Rosco directly addressed the complaints of Dr. Altcoin, who accused the Pi Core Team of selling 12 million PiCoin within 24 hours. Rosco, who recently reached 10,000 subscribers, expressed serious concerns about what he described as misinformation being spread by Dr. Altcoin. He argued that the transactions being mentioned are essentially standard token transfers from the Pi Foundation wallet 2 to users' wallets – not the core team's sales transactions. Using Piscan data, he demonstrated how the related wallet addresses are linked to legitimate user movements rather than market activities. He also explained the importance of responsibility, especially for those with significant influence and large followings. According to Rosco, baseless or emotional accusations will harm the reputation of the community and cause unnecessary panic. Rosco did not stop at clarifying the technical aspects. He continued to criticize Dr. Altcoin's tone and behavior, calling it reckless. While acknowledging some disappointment with the Core Team itself, particularly regarding their May 14 introduction, Rosco made it clear that demands for transparency must be based on facts, not assumptions. He pointed out that the Pi Core Team has the right to sell Pi from the allocated supply and noted that previous announcements have clarified how a portion of Pi will be used for development purposes and venture funding. Dr.Altcoin Defends His Intentions And Demands Accountability Dr. Altcoin responded to Rosco's video not with more accusations, but with a calmer and deeper post. He stated that he appreciates Rosco's efforts in questioning him, but feels that making the video was unnecessary since he had already responded on social media. Later, he doubled down on his stance, asking Piscan to provide official data on Pi sales over the past week to help resolve the issue once and for all. Dr. Altcoin clarified that he never intended to spread fear, uncertainty, or doubt (FUD), but rather to hold the Pi core team accountable for what he described as years of disappointing promises.
He argues that much of what the initial Core Team promised in the roadmap and whitepaper has not been delivered. According to him, the delays in KYC approval, bonus distribution, and ecosystem development have left millions of users in the dark. He stated that he may have made mistakes but insisted that they stemmed from good intentions, unlike what he claims are the deceitful actions of the Core Team. Dr. Altcoin calls on the community to stand by him in demanding transparency, referring to a previous move that reportedly led to the launch of the Open Network. For him, this latest conflict is not a personal issue – it is about holding powerful entities accountable. As tensions rise, the Pi Network community struggles with whom to trust and how to move forward. Both Rosco and Dr. Altcoin are clearly invested in the project, but they represent different strategies for demanding transparency—one based on verification, the other based on verbal pressure. The truth may lie somewhere in between, but for now, the debate has highlighted the growing impatience within a once tightly united group.
