Recently, the RWA public blockchain Plume Network published a condolence article, stating that co-founder and CTO Eugene Shen passed away earlier this week. Earlier this week, we lost our co-founder and dear friend Eugene, which has left us in shock. Eugene was talented, curious, and poured his heart into everything he did. Eugene's direct supervisor once gave a high evaluation.

Eugene Shen graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc), majoring in Engineering Physics. He worked as an engineer at the online brokerage Robinhood for about a year and a half, during which he experienced a period of significant liquidity influx. He also served as a senior software engineer at dydx and has been the co-founder and CTO of Plume since January 2024.

Robinhood's Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cryptocurrency, Johann Kerbrat, was also Eugene Shen's direct supervisor at the time. He once evaluated Eugene as one of the core members of the Robinhood crypto engineering team, capable of effectively scaling and supporting services in a high-pressure environment. He also actively participated in the onboarding and growth of many engineers within the team.
