Kaspersky now has a new type of Trojan horse "SparkKitty" that can steal encryptionWallet assets

Gate News bot news, according to Decrypt, security company Kaspersky reported on Tuesday that a new mobile Trojan called 'SparkKitty' is infecting smartphones to steal sensitive data, with attackers potentially stealing victims' Crypto Asset Wallets.

The malware is embedded in applications related to Cryptocurrency trading, gambling, and even modified versions of TikTok.

Once installed through a deceptive provisioning profile (used to run iOS applications or modified applications), SparkKitty will request access to the photo library. It will monitor changes, create a local database of stolen images, and upload the photos to a remote server.

Kaspersky said, 'We suspect the attackers' main goal is to find a screenshot of the CryptocurrencyWallet seed phrase.'

Currently, the malware mainly targets victims in China and Southeast Asia. However, the company warns that there are no measures to prevent it from spreading to other regions.

TRM Labs estimated in its 2024 report that nearly 70% of the $22 billion in cryptocurrency stolen last year originated from infrastructure attacks, especially those involving theft of private keys and seed phrases.
