Pudgy Penguins launched the Telegram TON game Pengu Clash, expanding the game IP territory.

Pudgy Penguins, the NFT known for its cute chubby penguin image, has recently launched a new Telegram game, Pengu Clash, hoping to combine social interaction, gaming, and blockchain technology to tap into a younger mainstream market and encryption newbies.

Pudgy Penguins' native Telegram game Pengu Clash has opened up early access for some waiting list users today. This game features penguin characters from the Pudgy Penguins NFT series and is a fast-paced one-on-one battle game. Players can dress up their penguins and compete in mini-games such as curling, darts, and soccer.

Pengu Clash: From NFT to Blockchain Game Migration

Pengu Clash is an extension of the Pudgy Penguins IP, emphasizing player skill-based gameplay. In the game, players can form teams and participate in various mini-battle events, unlocking gear, accessories, and team cosmetics through victories to add creativity and fun.

The founder and CEO of the crypto gaming protocol platform Elympics, Michal Dabrowski, stated that Pengu Clash emphasizes social interaction and skill rewards, deliberately avoiding the traditional "pay-to-win" model. He pointed out that many current Telegram games are merely clickbait games for short-term hype, often existing solely to attract users for airdrops, neglecting the entertainment and depth of the games themselves.

Dabrowski emphasizes that the core objective of Pengu Clash is to allow players to truly enjoy the gaming experience, rather than merely making money. He believes that an ideal blockchain game should be based on gameplay, viewing earning as an added value rather than the purpose of the game.

Currently, Pengu Clash supports features such as fast matching, PVP battles, and an in-built store, with over 1.1 million Telegram waitlist accounts.

It is worth mentioning that players do not need to create or log in to an encryption wallet to play; however, if they wish to purchase in-game cosmetics, they can connect to the built-in wallet in Telegram (currently available only in certain regions) or an external TON wallet.

Pudgy Penquins expands its IP into more diverse business applications

Pudgy NFT is based on Ethereum, Pudgy Meme Coin is based on Solana Blockchain, and now Pengu Clash is built on TON.

Regarding the question of why to choose TON instead of Ethereum L2 expansion solutions to develop Telegram games, Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz stated in an interview with Blockworks that the core goal of Pudgy Penguins is to become "the ambassador of the crypto world" and "the most popular penguin brand in the world." He emphasized that Pudgy Penguins will remain blockchain agnostic, continuously compatible with different public chains, and provide a consistent user experience regardless of the platform.

The launch of Pengu Clash not only demonstrates the Pudgy Penguins team's emphasis on cross-platform integration and gaming innovation but also symbolizes a new phase for NFT projects as they transition from pure collectibles to a focus on practicality and entertainment. To further expand brand reach, Pudgy Penguins has recently introduced new marketing content aimed at a younger audience, including picture books released on YouTube and animated series suitable for children. Pudgy Penguins is steadily realizing its goal of becoming the most popular NFT IP among Generation Z.
