The Ethereum Foundation restructures its research and development team, renaming the R&D department to "Protocol". The Ethereum Foundation announced in a blog post on Monday that it is restructuring its research and development team to focus more on upcoming protocol design issues within the Ethereum ecosystem. The foundation is renaming its protocol research and development department to "Protocol" and repositioning the department around three main priorities: scaling Ethereum's base layer, expanding blobspace (a key part of its data availability strategy), and improving user experience. The Ethereum Foundation has not disclosed how many employees were affected by this layoff. "Some PR&D members will no longer continue working at the Ethereum Foundation," the blog stated. "We hope these individuals will remain in the Ethereum ecosystem and encourage others who are forming teams to seek them out."
