A Russian couple managing a cryptocurrency business in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was kidnapped last week in an apartment by two Chechens and held for a ransom of $43,000 in cryptocurrency.
The investigation reveals that the couple had been invited to dinner by the two Chechens who occupied an apartment in Buenos Aires.
The victim called for help from her balcony, which alerted the police.
When the municipal police arrived at the scene, they found the victims handcuffed.
The two suspects are said to have fled to the United Arab Emirates.
The ransom payment was reportedly made by a friend of the victims.
Interpol has issued a red notice against them.
