The number of casualties in Palestine has reached 56,500, and Trump is calling for a ceasefire protocol in Gaza.

Gate News bot reports, according to Sky News, that the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza has reached 56,500, and Donald Trump urges Israel and Hamas to reach a ceasefire protocol.

"A protocol has been reached in Gaza. Bring the hostages back!!!" He wrote on social media last Sunday.

Trump had raised hopes for a potential agreement this week, but some Palestinians expressed skepticism about the latest efforts to end the war that has lasted for 20 months and has devastated much of Gaza.

"Since the war began, they have been promising us things like this: release the hostages, and we will stop the war," said Palestinian Abdul Hadi Al-Hur. "But they have not fulfilled their promises."

In the last few days of Joe Biden's presidency, both sides reached an eight-week ceasefire protocol, but Israel resumed the war in March after trying to get Hamas to accept new terms regarding the subsequent steps.
