Vitalik Buterin increased activity on X in August, posting more than 18 months ago in total
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, has recently significantly increased activity on Platform X (formerly Twitter) after facing numerous complaints of neglecting the platform. Over the past month, Buterin has posted more articles than in the entire previous 18 months.
According to analyst Alex Krüger, throughout August, Buterin has posted or responded at least 158 times on topics related to ETH, Ethereum blockchain, and other content. This contrasts starkly with his only 44 posts from January to July and only 13 posts throughout 2023.
On August 20th, Buterin shared that he had received advice from the community that 'he should reduce moral preaching and focus on writing more about Ethereum.'
Previously, Buterin was criticized for allegedly leaving X to switch to Farcaster, a smaller platform with fewer followers. The account 'Autism Capital' even called on Buterin to return to X to support the development of Ethereum. In a conversation with Elon Musk, Autism Capital speculated that Buterin chose Farcaster because it allowed him to interact with a small group of like-minded users without excessive surveillance.
Buterin's active activities on X continued in September, with over 30 posts or responses as of September 13th. He called on the community to increase pressure on Layer 2 (L2) solutions that have not met decentralization standards.
In the past July, Solana surpassed Ethereum for the first time in total weekly transaction fees, with revenues of about 25 million USD compared to Ethereum's 21 million USD.
Notably, in August, Buterin transferred about $10 million from his wallet to wallets related to crypto exchanges. According to data from Arkham Intelligence, Buterin’s address recorded a flow of about 422,000 ETH (worth about $993 million) from 2015 to now.
These actions have sparked speculation that Buterin may be selling his ETH to take profits. However, he has denied these allegations, stating that he only sells ETH to support projects that he deems valuable, not for profit purposes.
Currently, the price of Ether is fluctuating around the $2,350 level and has not been able to surpass the $2,500 mark since September 2nd.
