China Commerce News (Reporter Zhou Ziyi) March 30, Midea Group released its 2025 annual report, achieving total operating revenue of 458.5 billion yuan, up 12.1%. Among them, overseas market revenue reached 195.9 billion yuan, up 15.9%; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 43.95 billion yuan, up 14% year-on-year.

In 2025, Midea Group, across fields such as robotics, new energy, building technology, industrial components, medical care, logistics, and more, established a second growth curve. During the reporting period, the company’s To B business revenue was 122.8 billion yuan, up 17.5%.

Worth mentioning is that Midea Group is transforming into an “AI+” technology group, by building two major hubs, the “home brain” and the “factory brain.” Through comprehensive and in-depth application of AI empowerment across four core business scenario clusters—“smart home,” “intelligent manufacturing,” “smart office,” and “industry enablement”—and plans to invest more than 60 billion yuan in frontier research and development over the next three years.

Specifically, currently Midea Group has assembled an AI R&D team of over 400 people. More than 13,000 intelligent agents run every day across multiple scenarios including residential, office, manufacturing, medical, warehousing, logistics, and more. With AI empowerment, in 2025 Midea Group improved efficiency by more than 15 million hours across the whole year, saving 700 million yuan in various costs.

For Midea’s smart home scenarios, it builds AI intelligent agents for the landing of home appliance industry. It realizes a complete closed loop of “sensing—learning—decision-making—execution,” forming multi-dimensional proactive intelligent application capabilities across six major systems including air, water use, cooking, and more. By deeply cooperating with multiple leading automakers, it has enabled the “interconnection of person, vehicle, and home” scenario to land. Currently, Midea Group has more than 500 million units of home appliances across all categories with networking capabilities. Globally, it has achieved more than 140 million connected smart home appliances and more than 150 million smart users accessing, completing an AI-based layout for over 150 appliance product categories.

For Midea’s intelligent manufacturing scenarios, AI has been integrated into the entire end-to-end process from initial R&D to final marketing. Taking Midea’s washing machine Jingzhou factory as an example, it is centrally dispatched by the “factory brain.” Fourteen intelligent agents cover 38 core production scenarios. Targeting key links such as assembly, quality inspection, patrol inspection, production scheduling, and supply chain, intelligent agents complete traditional manual tasks at second-level response speed, achieving an average efficiency improvement of more than 80%. Among them, the response speed for production scheduling increases by 90%, and factory intelligence moves from the “mechanical automation” stage into a new stage of “autonomous decision-making.”

For Midea’s smart office scenarios, it builds a “living body” that can perceive and think. Within Shanghai Midea’s global innovation park, Midea iBUILDING’s digital platform connects more than 39k hardware points such as HVAC, elevators, lighting, and more through AI, improving operational and maintenance management efficiency by more than 30%. The elevator system, through machine learning, increases passenger-carrying capacity by 25% during peak periods. Currently, Midea has deeply integrated AI algorithms with HVAC core technologies, extending the capability boundaries of smart buildings into industrial, medical, data center, and other industry scenarios across thousands of verticals.

Midea Group has not only integrated AI into rich scenarios, but also enabled industries through AI. In Midea’s medical sector, AI technologies are being deeply integrated into the entire diagnosis and treatment workflow. An “AI doctor” generated based on more than 4 million cases of cross-domain chest DR (digital X-ray imaging) data can free up more than 70% of physicians’ repetitive case-reading time, providing primary-care physicians with a “second pair of eyes.” In Midea’s energy sector, through an AI dynamic strategy engine, it integrates scattered resources such as distributed photovoltaic, energy storage, and controllable loads into a “flexible regulation pool.” At the same time, it incorporates AI algorithms into household energy power stations, realizing the automatic “harvesting” of “energy wool.”

In addition, Midea Group has also publicly announced five humanoid robots and has gradually entered factory applications to perform tasks such as product quality inspection and equipment patrol inspection, marking a key step in its move from laboratory to application. Midea Group currently has determined three major R&D directions: humanoid-like, full humanoid, and super humanoid robots. In the short term, it focuses on industrial scenarios, replacing repetitive labor and completing complex tasks such as precision assembly, breaking through bottlenecks in manufacturing efficiency. In the mid-to-long term, it hopes to enter broader scenarios such as homes and medical care, ultimately becoming the next-generation smart terminal that connects “smart home” and “smart manufacturing.”
