Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin recently expressed a series of intriguing views that sparked widespread discussion in the crypto assets market. He predicts that Wall Street giants are about to enter the Ethereum staking space on a large scale, a viewpoint that has generated significant reactions in the market, with clear divides between supporters and skeptics.

Lubin further explained the basis of his predictions. He pointed out that financial giants such as JPMorgan have shown a keen interest in staking on Ethereum. He believes that these large financial institutions currently operate multiple isolated systems, and Ethereum has the potential to gradually replace these systems. Lubin envisions that in the future, these institutions with vast amounts of capital will have to participate in staking, validating nodes, and DeFi activities within a decentralized framework.

According to Lubin, Ethereum is becoming a core force driving the transformation of the global financial system. With its strong ecosystem and technological advantages, Ethereum has the potential to reshape the financial landscape, and the expansion potential of its ecosystem is hard to estimate.

When discussing the competitive relationship between ETH and BTC, Lubin expressed his firm confidence in ETH. He believes that ETH has the ability to challenge BTC's monetary status. Lubin emphasized that Ethereum is not just a digital currency, but an ecosystem with a wide range of application scenarios and strong technical support. Compared to BTC, Ethereum's smart contract functionality allows it to support the development of various decentralized applications across multiple fields, including finance, gaming, and social interaction, providing Ethereum with greater development space and value potential.

Regarding the relationship between Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 1 (L1) that the market is focused on, Lubin also offered his insights. This topic has been of great interest in the Crypto Assets community, as it relates to the scalability of the Ethereum network and its future development direction.

Lubin's views reflect his optimistic attitude towards the future development of Ethereum, while also providing us with a window to understand the potential transformations in the crypto assets market. With the possible large-scale entry of Wall Street giants, the development of the Ethereum ecosystem will undoubtedly enter a new phase. However, whether these predictions can come true still requires time to verify.

Citing the data from Chapter 3 of "Blockchain Consensus Mechanism and Network Effects", this optimistic tone deserves caution.

It's not something new; back then, JPM also said they wanted to get on board.
