Bo Hines, the cryptocurrency advisor to President Donald Trump, stated that despite all the recent adversities, President Donald Trump wants and plans to sign significant cryptocurrency laws by August.

Speaking at Consensus 2025 held in Toronto, Bo Hines stated that despite the rejection of the stablecoin law GENIUS, negotiations regarding the law are still ongoing.

At this point, Hines emphasized that Congress needed to ensure the passage of the stablecoin law before going on recess in August.

"Discussions regarding the stablecoin law are ongoing. However, I remain optimistic that we will pass the stablecoin legislation and market structure regulations before the August holiday. The President's desire is also to do this."

Hines also addressed concerns about possible conflicts of interest regarding Trump’s family's cryptocurrency project, emphasizing that the president's children and family have the legal right to participate in the crypto market as private investors.

"President Trump's sons have the right to participate in capital markets like other private entrepreneurs in the US.

I do not see the Trump family's project as a conflict of interest. A talented entrepreneur should look at digital assets and think, 'How can I participate?' because digital assets are the new generation of finance.

Hines also added that the White House and members of the working group continue to work on a strategic Bitcoin (BTC) reserve.
