At the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, David Sacks – the AI and crypto "czar" of the White House – stated that the Trump administration is reversing its hostile policy towards crypto and may continue to buy more Bitcoin if it does not increase public debt.

He emphasized that the decree establishing the Strategic Digital Asset Reserve allows the government to use both seized Bitcoin and purchase additional Bitcoin if reasonably funded by the Department of Commerce or the Department of the Treasury.

Sacks also praised the initial steps such as: the pardon of Ross Ulbricht, banning CBDCs, ending Choke Point 2.0, and cutting the CFPB budget – an agency seen as a tool of Senator Elizabeth Warren against crypto.

He predicts that bills such as the Stablecoin Bill and Genius Act will soon be passed, laying a new legal foundation for the industry. Additionally, Sacks calls for the U.S. to expand energy production to support both AI and Bitcoin.
