U.S. initial claims fell to the lowest level since July, and the Fed's rate cut in 2024 is less than 100 basis points

Odaily Planet Daily News. The number of initial jobless claims in the United States has fallen for the second consecutive week to the lowest level since early July. Data released shows that for the week ending August 10th, the number of initial jobless claims decreased by 7,000 to 227,000. The median forecast in a survey of economists by institutions was 235,000. In addition, for the week ending August 3rd, the number of continued jobless claims also decreased to 1.86 million.
