Central Bank official Takeshi Noguchi: The pace of interest rate hikes will not be similar to that of other major Central Bank

Sina Financial News Central Bank official Noguchi Woo said that due to stubborn non-inflationary behavior, the pace of interest rate hikes in Japan will not be similar to the trajectory of other major central banks. "I don't expect the pace of policy Intrerest Rate adjustments to be comparable to what other major central banks have seen recently," Noguchi said in a speech to local business leaders in Saga, Japan, on Thursday. "It will take some time for core inflation to rise to around 2%. Noguchi was one of two Central Bank policy members who voted against a March 19 rate hike. He believes that for the sake of policy continuity, negative Intrerest Rate and yield curve control programs should not end at the same time.
