Previously, Israel claimed to have killed Muhammad Sinwar in an attack in May, but Hamas had not confirmed this. On the evening of the 30th, Hamas released a list of its organization’s "martyr" leaders, including Ismail Haniyeh, Yehya Sinwar, Muhammad Deif, Muhammad Sinwar, Marwan Issa, Bassem Issa, Rafi Salama, and Rad Tabat. Muhammad Sinwar is the brother of the late Hamas leader Yehya Sinwar. After Yehya Sinwar and the former head of Hamas' military wing Muhammad Deif were killed during Israeli military operations last year, Muhammad Sinwar became the leader of Hamas' military department in the Gaza Strip.
