According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on March 27, 2026, over January to February, nationwide industrial enterprises above the designated size recorded total profits of 1,024.56 billion yuan. On a comparable basis, this represents a 15.2% increase year-on-year, which is 14.6 percentage points higher than 2025 for the whole year.
Wu Weining, Chief Statistician of the Industrial Division of the National Bureau of Statistics, said that with production accelerating and factors such as product prices recovering jointly boosting performance, business revenue grew noticeably in the first two months, creating favorable conditions for the restoration of enterprise profitability. In the first two months of 2026, business revenue of industrial enterprises above the designated size increased by 5.2% year-on-year, accelerating by 4.2 percentage points compared with the whole of 2025.
