According to The Wall Street Journal, Franklin Templeton announced its agreement to acquire the venture capital firm CoinFund's spin-off company, 250 Digital, to expand its cryptocurrency asset investment business; the related crypto investment division will offer strategies targeted at institutional investors. 250 Digital announced its spin-off from CoinFund in January of this year, led by former CoinFund executives Christopher Perkins and Seth Ginns. Franklin Templeton entered the crypto space in 2018 and has now assembled a digital asset team of over 50 people.
