The wealthiest top 20% of Americans now hold approximately $49.1 trillion in stocks and funds, accounting for about 87% of the total.

In contrast, the middle 40% hold only $5.9 trillion, and the bottom 40% hold even less at $1.5 trillion.

Since the pandemic in 2020, the top 20%'s stock assets have increased by $29.8 trillion, a gain of 154%.

Meanwhile, the remaining 80% have collectively increased their holdings by only $4.2 trillion.

In other words, the money earned by the top 20% is more than 6 times greater than that of the remaining 80%.

Simply put, those with assets are becoming increasingly wealthy, while those without assets have barely benefited at all.
