Tonight I should finally break even and exit. My thinking is to look down to 2080, with an extreme stop loss at 2000. Recently, due to the quarterly options expiration approaching, the price should be maintained near the pain point, meaning it will be suppressed below 2150 until after Friday's expiration next week, then consolidate and move up to 2300. Low odds this month for 1400.
This means holding this position for nearly half a month. Actually, I'm quite satisfied with my current entry price. I'd rather hold through the drawdown than miss this golden opportunity. But after thinking for an hour tonight, I decided against it. A week is a long time, and many people will stop-loss and exit. Might miss a lot of trades this way. I'm holding long positions, when there's a shorting opportunity I'll short, but then you'll see it's over, we're backed into a corner and have to hedge. Especially if the short also hits stop loss, you all get scared, I get scared too. In theory, opening both sides means no stop loss needed, but I'm afraid it won't follow the script and both sides get caught, which is also uncomfortable.
Going forward I should focus more on day trading. Putting stop losses at wider levels is also to protect you guys. At 180k in copy-trading capital, losing a percentage is still significant.
The first time I held through was five days of drawdown. I felt my direction was right, best to take 30%+ profit and exit. Second time two and a half days for 5% profit, averaging it out daily is not bad either. Sure, some will say I got the entry wrong and held through a reversal, what reversal—a one or two day, four or five day reversal? That's real trend reversal?
Should break even tonight. The next script I originally didn't want to tell you guys about, but not saying it would really look like hindsight bias, and if I say it and get it wrong that's bragging..... Whether we hit 2300 or 1400, we'll see when we get there.
If we don't reach it, consider I didn't say anything.
Last time I made a profit of 5%+ in two and a half days, which was the day before yesterday. After that until today, I only lost on two trades, accounting for 1.41% - not as terrifying as you all say about losing 10% in a day 😅
