On the news front, according to Zhongzheng Jinniu Zuo, sources from the industry chain revealed that Foxconn has begun trial production of Apple foldable screen iPhone. By 2025, Apple’s shipment target guidance to suppliers is to launch the first foldable screen phone in the second half of 2026, which will be a large foldable iPhone.

An industry chain analyst explained that Apple phones have a huge user base, and the demand for Apple foldable screen iPhones is expected to be high, but sales will depend on the final pricing.

Research firm Counterpoint believes that as Apple prepares to launch its first foldable screen iPhone, the foldable phone market will enter a new competitive phase in 2026. Regarding market impact, Donghai Securities stated that according to the report “Foldable Screen Smartphone Market Forecast” by Counterpoint Research, supported by factors such as Apple’s expected entry, the continued high-end trend in the smartphone market, and increased OEM participation, global foldable smartphone shipments are expected to grow by 20% in 2026. As Apple prepares to launch its first foldable screen iPhone, the foldable smartphone market will enter a new competitive stage in 2026. Counterpoint Research predicts that Apple will capture 28% of the market share in 2026, approaching Samsung’s leading position. This change is expected to significantly reshape the global competitive landscape.

From the perspective of device structure, Guoyuan Securities pointed out that Apple’s first foldable screen phone will adopt a book-style left-right fold, with key components being hinges and ultra-thin flexible glass (UTG), and related domestic industry chain companies may benefit.
