People’s Financial News 8 April, Guiguan Power (600236) announced that by 31 March 2026, the company’s directly affiliated and holding companies’ power plants had a cumulative power generation of 11.1B kWh in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 49.05% year-on-year.
The main reasons for the change in the company’s power generation in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year are:
First, at the beginning of 2026, the water levels of major reservoirs (including Longtan) in the upper reaches of the Hongshui River, the main power generation basin of the company, were relatively high, with more water storage and greater water supply for power generation, resulting in a 30-40% increase compared to the same period last year, and thus a year-on-year growth in power generation;
Second, the company’s new energy installed capacity increased, and new energy power generation increased year-on-year;
Third, due to the annual growth of installed capacity in Guangxi and the increased proportion of new energy installed capacity, the space for thermal power generation was squeezed, and the average utilization hours of thermal power in Guangxi decreased significantly year-on-year.
