Mengucapkan selamat tinggal pada "kotak hitam kinerja": Pengelola Tugas Windows 11 resmi mendukung pemantauan NPU
Microsoft recently launched a significant upgrade for Task Manager in the Windows 11 development version update. This update finally completed the last piece of the puzzle for hardware monitoring, officially adding real-time monitoring functionality for Neural Processing Units (NPU).
With the popularization of the AI PC concept, NPU has become the core hardware for processing artificial intelligence tasks. Previously, users could not intuitively view the operational status of NPU, but this upgrade makes the load situation of this specialized chip transparent and visible.
In the latest preview version 26300.8142, the process, user, and details pages of Task Manager all added new NPU columns. Users can not only view the real-time utilization rate of NPU, but also gain deep insights into the specific consumption of various programs on dedicated memory and shared memory.
Moreover, Microsoft further refined the monitoring dimensions, and the performance page can now comprehensively display the neural network engine activity built into the graphics card. This means all AI-related execution traces in the system will be captured by Task Manager.
This evolution of Task Manager marks NPU’s official entry into mainstream hardware performance evaluation system. For developers and tech enthusiasts, this is not just an increase in data, but rather the foundation for precise tuning of AI application power consumption and efficiency.
Currently, this feature is mainly open to preview experience members, and large-scale rollout still requires time. It is foreseeable that as NPU monitoring becomes prevalent, future Windows systems will undergo experience reconstruction centered more deeply around the AI hardware ecosystem.
