Kuwait’s Mina Ahmadi Oil Refinery was attacked again on Friday, causing some units to halt production. The refinery was attacked the previous day, as energy infrastructure in the Middle East continues to be targeted.

According to Kuwaiti media KUNA, the facility has been subjected to multiple drone attacks, with some equipment catching fire. The refinery has a daily capacity of 346,000 barrels.

KUNA reported that fire and emergency rescue teams have arrived on site to extinguish the fire. There have been no reports of casualties so far.

On Thursday, one operational unit at the Mina Ahmadi refinery, as well as other units at the Mina Abdullah refinery with a daily processing capacity of 454,000 barrels, were attacked, and the resulting fires were subsequently extinguished. A source with knowledge of the situation stated on Thursday that one facility has returned to normal operations, while another remained shut down due to a reduction in crude oil output, but did not provide further details.

Due to ongoing obstacles at the Strait of Hormuz, Kuwait’s crude oil production has been reduced by at least half from last month’s daily rate of 2.6 million barrels.
