At 16:32-16:41 Beijing time, monitoring data captured an interesting transaction: a wallet address marked as "pension-usdt.eth" suddenly made moves on its Ethereum short positions — reducing 2,083 ETH in a single operation, equivalent to approximately $6.51 million.

This operation significantly reduced the whale's short position scale. At the time of reporting, its remaining short position value was only $2.91 million, with unrealized gains around $10,600. Interestingly, this was not a complete liquidation and exit — the whale can still be seen with approximately $377,000 in short position pending orders on-chain, which have not been filled yet.

Ethereum price volatility has indeed been substantial recently, and large position changes always stir up market sentiment. The sudden reduction of shorts by a relatively conservative whale address has led some in the community to believe this is a "lock in gains" signal, while others think it may be predicting short-term market adjustments.
