Institution: Australia is expected to begin cutting interest rates in February.

According to Shane Oliver, Chief Economist of Australia's AMP Financial Service, the Reserve Bank of Australia is expected to start cutting interest rates in February. He said that the money market indicates a 69% probability of a rate cut in February. Oliver stated that the Reserve Bank of Australia should start cutting rates no later than May and is expected to have at least three cuts by 2025. He said, 'It should be noted that although Trump's policies may increase US inflation and interest rates, they have ambiguous or even potentially negative effects on Australia's rise and inflation.' Oliver added that the new committee is unlikely to change the interest rate path from March onwards.
