The US federal prosecutors have rebutted the allegations against Ryan Salame, an executive at FTX, stating that they did not violate the terms of the plea protocol with the former FTX executive, which is that they will cease the criminal investigation against Salame's long-term partner and mother of his child, Michelle Bond. The prosecutors stated that they never made any such promise to Ryan Salame, formal or informal, and their prosecution of Michelle Bond is fair. In a harsh 32-page memorandum submitted on Thursday, prosecutors urged Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. Southern District of New York to reject Salame's recent request to enforce the terms of his guilty plea protocol or dismiss his guilty plea and revoke his sentence, calling it a "shameless and selfish attempt to defy his guilty plea and conviction...and undermine the legitimate prosecution of Michelle Bond." According to reports, the relevant hearing is scheduled to be held on September 12, 2024. (Coindesk)
