Glassnode: Bitcoin holders with a 3 to 5 year holding period are slowing their dumping, but still exert pressure on the market.

Abstract generation in progress

On June 2, Glassnode officially posted that "investors who have held Bitcoin for 3 to 5 years reached 15.7% of the total supply on November 9, 2024, hitting a new high since March 2017." They then began selling, then paused, and then resumed selling in April 2025. Currently, they hold 11.9% of Bitcoin, which is still well above the cycle low of about 3% and still poses significant pressure. Bitcoin's "realized market capitalization fluctuations" reflect the value held by different age groups. Investors who have held coins for 3 to 5 years still have a lot of wealth in their hands and tend to sell when the price is strong. The recent slowdown in selling suggests that the selling pressure may be close to running out, but the 12% share of the total supply suggests that many of these investors are still waiting for higher prices."
