USDT-TRC20 for TON, multisignature and multi-send: overview of the Tonkeeper Pro wallet

According to Ton App, as of April 2025, the most popular wallet in the The Open Network ecosystem (TON) is Tonkeeper.

In this article, we will take a detailed look at the features of its Pro version ― Tonkeeper Pro for desktops and iOS. Together with the application's developers, we will discuss the process of sending USDT on the TRON network using the "Battery" service, activating the Pro subscription, and creating a multisignature wallet.

Tonkeeper Ecosystem

Tonkeeper is a non-custodial wallet for TON, created in 2021. The Tonkeeper team actively develops software solutions for the TON blockchain, including its own services — the blockchain explorer Tonviewer and the developer service TonAPI, as well as open protocols and standards such as TonConnect and W5.

The Tonkeeper ecosystem includes:

  • the same-named application for Android and iOS;
  • browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Microsoft Edge, and Yandex Browser;
  • Tonkeeper Pro desktop application for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and as a web version;
  • a separate mobile application Signer for "cold" storage of assets on offline devices.

According to project representatives, it is important to distinguish between two versions of the desktop wallet: Tonkeeper and Tonkeeper Pro.

"These are essentially two different applications with different sets of features. Tonkeeper is a wallet for a broad range of users, while Tonkeeper Pro is focused on professional features like multi-sending and multisignature. If you manage assets daily, transfer money to employees, participate in contests and giveaways, and send USDT on TRON, then the Pro version is perfect for you," representatives of Tonkeeper explain.

Tonkeeper includes:

  • two-factor authentication. When enabled, the wallet will request transaction confirmation via Telegram. The activation fee is 0.15 TON;
  • support for USDT on the TRON blockchain. When creating or importing a wallet, Tonkeeper Pro generates a TRON address for USDT (TRC-20). Fees for sending stablecoins are covered using "Battery" charges — a service from Tonkeeper for purchasing gas with TON or other tokens in The Open Network.

The subscription process in the desktop version and on iOS provides Tonkeeper users access to:

  • advanced dashboard for asset analysis in wallets. This feature is useful for those who use Tonkeeper in business;
  • multisignature. Sending funds to multiple addresses at once, which saves time when paying salaries and other mass payments;
  • multisignature support. Creating wallets managed by multiple participants;
  • creating a multi-account. Generation of an unlimited number of wallets linked to a single seed phrase.

The Pro version for iOS was introduced by the Tonkeeper team in May 2025. Tonkeeper Pro users on the computer can scan the QR code in the control panel and immediately install the Pro version on iPhone ( or download the app from the App Store ).

At the time of publication, the annual subscription costs 8 TON (~$24). A free trial period is also available: one month on desktop and three months on iPhone.

Sending USDT-TRC20 without TRX

In recent years, many blockchains with low fees have implemented support for USDT, including TON, however, TRON remains one of the main options for transferring USDT.

"With Tether on TRON, almost all crypto services are operational, which is why we added it to Tonkeeper. At the same time, we made life easier for users who only need TRON for USDT transactions. There's no need to buy TRX — just charge the 'Battery' in the wallet," said Tonkeeper.

No subscription is required to activate the "Battery" — it is available to all Tonkeeper users.

We tested the service: downloaded Tonkeeper Pro, created a new wallet, wrote down the seed phrase on paper, and checked the box next to USDT in the tokens window upon loading. Later, this option can be changed in the settings.

Data: Tonkeeper Pro. "Battery" charges can be purchased for TON, as well as for Notcoin (NOT), DOGS, CATI, and other tokens.

In the documentation, the Tonkeeper team recommends topping up the "Battery" with at least $3, otherwise the purchase will not go through. The developers also note that one transfer of USDT (TRC-20) requires approximately 250 charges, but this number can vary significantly depending on market conditions.

We selected the option "Charge for TON", set 375 charges for 1.15 TON ($3,35) and confirmed the transaction. The "battery" charged for 20 seconds.

Data: Tonkeeper Pro.For the test, we funded the TRON address with 20 USDT. Then we clicked the "Send" button, specified the recipient's address and the amount. The wallet calculated 185 charges as the fee for sending funds to the wallet with USDT.

Data: Tonkeeper Pro. However, we actually spent just under ― 182 charges (, 0.558 TON or $1.63). For comparison, the cost of transferring USDT in TRON will be $3 ( if the recipient has USDT) or $6 ( when sending to an "empty" address).

Unused charges can be returned within 14 days from the date of purchase. To do this, you need to go to the "Batteries" page, then to the "Top-up and Return History" section. In the Tonkeeper Pro browser, you need to connect to the site bat.tonkeeper.com and click the Return Charges button.

Subscribing and testing multisend

Creating a multisignature wallet and multi-send requires a subscription. To test the Pro features on your own, you can activate a free trial period for one month. To do this, you need to:

  • click the "Get Pro" button in the lower left corner of Tonkeeper Pro;
  • select the "Try Pro for free" option;
  • in the pop-up window, enter the phone number linked to the Telegram account. Tonkeeper Pro needs this information to protect against bots;
  • confirm connection to the wallet via Telegram.

After connecting, the wallet interface will change to the Pro theme in yellow and black colors. To purchase a subscription:

  • open settings and select the Tonkeeper Pro option;
  • If you have a promo code, please enter it. At the time of writing, users can receive a 10% bonus to the "Battery" charge through Cointelegraph Crypto Bonus.
  • click the "Buy" button and confirm the transaction ( TON at the time of writing ).

Data: Tonkeeper Pro.After subscribing, we tested the multi-sending feature of tokens:

  • in the top menu clicked on "Multisend" and created a new list;
  • specified two recipient addresses and token amounts for each ( of 1 TON ). In the future, we will use them to create a multisignature wallet;
  • confirmed the transaction.

The transaction fee was only 0.004 TON (approximately $0.01). In addition to TON, any tokens on The Open Network blockchain can be sent. The created list can be saved or edited — this is convenient for regular mass payments, such as salaries. Developers add that the list can be imported in CSV format from Excel, Google Sheets, and other spreadsheet editors.

Data: Tonkeeper Pro.## Creating a multisignature wallet

A wallet with multisignature can be managed by several participants. When creating it, the user defines:

  • total number of keys (n);
  • quorum required for signing transaction (m-from-n).

For example, the popular industry scheme 2-of-3 means that there are three keys, but any two of them are needed to spend the funds.

"As a rule, each key is owned by a separate person — co-owner of the wallet. The 2-of-3 format means that confirmation from at least two of the three participants is required to send a transaction," Tonkeeper explains.

To create a multisignature setup, you need to go to the "Multisig wallets" section, then to "New Multisig wallet". To set it up, you only need the addresses of the other signers.

Data: Tonkeeper Pro. We specified the addresses and quorum ― two participants (67%). When choosing a setup with one signer or with three or more (100% consent), it is important to consider the risks. In the first case, either party can spend all the organization's funds alone. In the second case, access to the funds will be permanently lost if at least one participant loses their key.

2-of-3, 3-of-5 schemes and similar ones represent a balanced solution: no party has full control, but the loss of one or several keys does not result in the loss of access to funds.

After confirmation, Tonkeeper Pro will generate a multisignature wallet and send 0.09 TON to it.

! Data: Tonkeeper Pro.

"In the future, it does not matter who exactly created the wallet — it does not grant any privileges. All signatures are equal," Tonkeeper notes.

To sign transactions using a multisignature wallet, it is sufficient to create a request and set a time for signing, and then specify the recipient's address, token, and the amount of the transfer.

Data: Tonkeeper Pro. The time counts down from the moment of the first signature. The request will become invalid if it does not receive the required number of confirmations within the set timeframe.

After reaching the quorum of signatures, Tonkeeper Pro will automatically send funds to the recipient's address.

"The multisignature wallet allows you to do everything that a regular wallet does: send TON, tokens, and NFTs, conduct swaps, connect to decentralized applications via TON Connect, and confirm transactions. The main difference is that each action on the blockchain is processed as a request that must be confirmed by multiple participants," explained Tonkeeper.

The current instructions for creating a multisignature wallet are available on the Tonkeeper website.

Conclusions

Tonkeeper Pro is the advanced version of the popular TON wallet, Tonkeeper. Previously, it was only available on desktops, but in May, the developers added support for iOS and provided a three-month free trial period. To activate it, you need to press the "Continue with Pro" button in the app.

Users can pay for transactions with USDT (TRC-20) on the TON network using the "Battery" service. In our case, the fee turned out to be lower than in TRON, however, the developers note that the final cost depends on various market factors.

For added security, two-factor authentication can be enabled - transaction confirmations will occur through Telegram.

Companies and organizations can subscribe annually for just 8 TON (~$24) and gain access to Pro features: multisignature wallets, an advanced dashboard for transaction analysis, and lists for mass payouts.
