MV Global predicts significant expansion for DeSci sector via utility memecoins

Decentralized Science (DeSci) is poised for remarkable growth in 2025, fueled by utility memecoins, according to a recent report by MV Global.

DeSci involves integrating blockchain technology into scientific research. Its goal is to revolutionize the traditional scientific ecosystem by enhancing transparency, decentralization, and collaboration.

The report highlighted that while such a concept is not something new, the focus and scope of these initiatives have evolved Initially, most projects concentrated on research funding through Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).

MV Global also projected that health data management and collaborative open-source research would also see significant growth in 2025

Projects like Hippocrat, which empowers individuals to take control of their health data, and ResearchCoin, which aims to build a “GitHub for scientific research,” are seen as promising. Both are projected to reach a market valuation of at least $200 million in 2025.

The report also forecasted a significant increase in DeSci projects, with at least 50 expected to be listed by the end of 2025. This growth reflects positive market sentiment and increased liquidity within the sector.
