The Russian government departments have begun to compile a national registry of crypto mining equipment.

Gate News bot news, the Russian Ministry of Energy is preparing a national registry of crypto mining equipment to strengthen control over illegal mining and increase tax revenue. According to reports from RIA Novosti, this registry will help identify who is using electricity for crypto mining and ensure compliance with relevant laws.

Deputy Minister Peter Konevchenko stated that this move is a step towards the legalization of the industry and reducing illegal energy consumption. While legal Mining is thriving, illegal mining is also flourishing, with many miners using unauthorized connections or subsidized electricity. Miners will be required to register the serial numbers and models of their equipment. Some officials are considering implementing an "amnesty" for those miners who must purchase equipment underground to avoid penalties.
