2025 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival Summer He Interviews Bao Er Ye: The Rise of Digital Finance in Hong Kong and New Opportunities for Chinese Capital

Xia He: Baoye, what do you think of today's event at the venue? Do you have any personal feelings?

Bao Er Ye: Haha, the Chinese crypto circle is back! Not just the crypto circle, but all kinds of circles are back, like AI, Web2, Web3, it's very lively! Recently, I've been in Silicon Valley, and I've felt it deeply. The foreigners have messed up quite a bit, FTX collapsed, Genesis, BlockFi, Three Arrows Capital, Luna, all faced problems consecutively, and the credit of foreigners has collectively collapsed. The US dollar is also collapsing, with interest rates raised to this level, and the economy is not doing well either. In contrast, China has gotten through the pandemic, and now the country is focusing on the economy, while the private sector is also becoming active, let's all play together! I think the country's policies towards Hong Kong are really strong! Hong Kong is now like a sandbox, turning into the financial center of Asia. The money that used to flow to Singapore and Switzerland is now flowing back to Hong Kong, and funds from the mainland are also gathering here. This opportunity is quite significant! I originally came here for tourism, but unexpectedly stumbled upon this meeting, and I'm particularly surprised, feeling that I might need to come back!

Xia He: Are you saying you want to return to China from the United States?

Bao Er Ye: Yes, I might have to come back and do something! It's not just the cryptocurrency space; the future trend is that Chinese private entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises, internet celebrities, game developers, and those going overseas can all issue tokens through Hong Kong's digital financial channels. Hong Kong has now opened up, and it's legal and compliant, allowing money from all over the world to come to Hong Kong for investment.

Xia He: Do you think that project parties or institutions from the mainland will flock to Hong Kong in the near future?

Bao Erye: Quite possibly! You see, these days, Hong Kong receives 700,000 people a day, and China has a population of 1.4 billion, which is an incredible proportion. Hong Kong is now a special bridge connecting the world, and its status as a financial center has been clearly defined. Global travel capital will also slowly return. What's next? I don't know, but I see that the Chinese have already occupied a place in the United States, Canada, and Australia, and the mansions on the West Coast have basically been bought by the Chinese! In the past, we sent millions of people to buy houses, land, and companies around the world, but after all, it was a foreign country, and the Chinese still had to do something on their own land. Hong Kong is the best place and the opportunities are very great! I'm not technical, I can only look at trends. The trend is good! Hong Kong's digital finance is a big outlet, and private enterprises and individual entrepreneurs can take this opportunity to become bigger. I'm just talking nonsense, haha, but it feels like the chances are really big!

Xia He: Thank you, Bao Er Ye, for your sharing. It was very wonderful!
