Cartesi Ecosystem Dynamics # 3 (2025)

Abstract generation in progress

technology

The current market is going through a challenging period, a fact we cannot ignore. We empathize with this, and it is a shared sentiment among everyone in the ecosystem. Nevertheless, we are incredibly proud of the future that Cartesi is building, and our belief in the vision is stronger than ever.

At the cutting edge of technology, exciting progress is underway. Rollups V2 is on the way, marking a significant leap in the maturity of Cartesi technology. This brings us one step closer to our long-term vision - the realization of Stage Two Rollups. This is not only an important milestone for the Cartesi ecosystem but also a technological breakthrough that the entire Web3 community urgently needs and looks forward to.

Node V2 has achieved key milestones: it is now in a "fully functional" state. Although it is still in the testing phase, all designed features are ready, including the JSON-RPC API—this update offers greater flexibility and usability for clients and node operators. An important upgrade to note is the integration of Data Availability (DA), which has now become a part of the application deployment process. We urge builders to participate in stress testing the node, challenging its performance limits.

At the same time, Cartesi CLI is evolving in sync with the nodes. The alpha version supporting Node V2 has been officially released. In addition, the nodes now include optional components—for example, if you are using Espresso, you can choose a local execution environment integrated with the Espresso infrastructure. The CLI itself has undergone a complete overhaul, adopting a new command structure to better support Rollups and the Cartesi co-processor. Even more exciting is that its startup time has now been shortened to just 3 seconds.

Regarding the Cartesi co-processor, we have released version v1.1.0 (addressing most of the issues encountered during the EigenLayer experimental week). To maintain momentum and continue progress, we have also restarted the co-processor working group with a clear goal: to cultivate an active community of builders on the Cartesi co-processor.

"World Tycoon" is bringing classic simulation city gameplay into the crypto era, allowing players to experience a city-building journey driven by a real economic model while using the same classic game engine. All core functionalities have been developed, and the team is fully focused on advancing the deployment of the Base testnet! We are eager to dive into this game, explore its unique mechanisms, and contribute to its continuous evolution through feedback.

Comet is about to迎来 an important milestone - the Alpha version of the testnet based on Cartesi Rollups 2.0 is about to be launched. We look forward to collecting player feedback during the Beta testing phase, with the ultimate goal of enabling anyone to create their own Comet world using Cartesi and Espresso.

DCA.Monster, as a DEX that supports streaming swaps and conditional swaps, is dedicated to providing the optimal solution for on-chain dollar cost averaging (DCA). The project is currently in careful preparation, ensuring the long-term safety of funds while continuously advancing code audits and mainnet launch preparations. More updates will be revealed soon.

Cartesi Grant Program

Last month, Michael Asiedu proactively took on the proposal request (RFP) to integrate RISC Zero with Cartesi, aiming to introduce privacy-preserving computation capabilities for the Cartesi Machine. The goal is to create a plug-and-play framework for developers to execute zero-knowledge proof (zk-proof) verification within the Cartesi infrastructure.

Latest Update: Michael has now developed a fully functional toolkit that successfully bridges RISC Zero's zero-knowledge proofs with the Cartesi off-chain computing stack by combining two modes: Rollups and co-processors.

Are you ready to showcase your skills? Explore all open proposal requests now to find the best areas to demonstrate your programming talent. Want to know what challenges other developers are tackling? All proposals are public here (

If you're not a developer but know a talent, you can be referred through the DevDrop Grant Program – you'll be rewarded with $500 worth of CTSI tokens when the proposal submitted by the referee is successfully funded!

Developer ecosystem construction

The Cartesi developer support team is always dedicated to providing top resources and professional guidance to support developers. Whether you are just getting started with Cartesi or are deeply building decentralized applications, the team will provide a solid backing throughout the process.

Last month, the team focused on the already launched pre-release environment of Node v2 and released a brand new series of Golang tutorial videos (

The team has also released the latest two episodes of the podcast "I Build Therefore I Am"! In this episode, João Garcia engages in a deep conversation with Fuel CEO Nick Dodson and Cartesi Foundation member Carsten Munk. The unique insights from the two guests are incredibly beneficial, and the complete list of episodes can be found on the podcast homepage (

Cartesi Foundation

The Cartesi Foundation reaffirms its long-term commitment to the ecosystem through strategic open market acquisitions, planning to purchase at least $500,000 worth of CTSI tokens. The tokens will be gradually acquired and stored in the foundation's treasury, with specific purchasing plans adjusted at the foundation's discretion based on market conditions.

This move demonstrates the foundation's firm belief in Cartesi's long-term vision. As the ecosystem continues to grow, its technological influence increases and it constantly explores new frontiers, Cartesi is in the best position to lead the future development of decentralized applications.

Event Dynamics

Cartesi recently participated in a week-long series of Web3 Global Talks Spaces organized by Web3 Global. By engaging in these in-depth discussions, the team not only maintained a close connection with the community but also explored many insightful topics. The topics consistently focused on industry trends and hot issues, and we strongly recommend you follow their channel.

Core contributor Siannie attended the Web3 Global offline event in Amsterdam, winning enthusiastic interactions for the Cartesi penguin mascot. Meanwhile, South Korean ambassador Jay represented Cartesi at the Southeast Asia Blockchain Week!

The online events are equally exciting: Carsten Munk, a member of the Cartesi Foundation, was invited to participate in the DeFi roundtable hosted by KernelDAO, engaging in in-depth dialogue with Venn Network and Interstate. Listen to the full content:

Event Announcement

The ecosystem update meeting is locked in every Monday, and the "I Build, Therefore I Am" podcast will continue to be released every two weeks.

About Cartesi

Cartesi is a powerful modular blockchain protocol that provides developers with a complete Linux environment and high-performance Rollup technology, aimed at supporting the next generation of decentralized applications. By integrating Linux, the Cartesi Virtual Machine enables developers to leverage programming languages, tools, and code libraries that have been proven in real-world applications over decades to build dApps. Cartesi provides each dApp with an independent Rollup layer and dedicated computing resources, significantly enhancing computational scalability while ensuring that decentralization, security, and censorship-resistance are not compromised.
