Odaily Planet Daily News: Aave has officially launched the v4 upgrade version, developed over about two years, on Ethereum, introducing a new architecture that separates the operation of lending markets while sharing liquidity. The goal is to expand DeFi from crypto-native lending to real-world asset and institutional use cases.

The v4 version changes Aave’s market organization approach, allowing different types of lending markets to operate independently while sharing the same liquidity pool, so that users in the future can borrow and lend assets other than crypto tokens. Aave Labs founder Stani Kulechov said that lending is trust-based and needs to reflect lending terms that match market conditions. He also noted that this upgrade makes it easier for other teams to develop and expand on top of the protocol. In terms of capital efficiency, the v4 version can also reinvest idle funds in the system.

When this upgrade went live, it adopted a limited set of markets and conservative parameter settings, with more features to be added in the coming time after governance resolutions. The launch comes amid governance controversy within the Aave ecosystem regarding decentralization and revenue distribution issues.
