This adjustment only applies to 15-minute crypto markets, with most other markets maintaining zero fees. Fee levels vary with market probability, reaching their highest when prices approach 50% and approaching zero as they move toward 0% or 100% probability. Based on the official example, if 100 contracts are executed at a $0.50 price, the fee would be approximately $1.56, representing about 3% of the transaction amount at the peak of the fee curve. This adjustment was not accompanied by a formal announcement, though the documentation history shows the relevant terms as newly added content. The community generally views this change not as comprehensive platform fees, but rather as a market structure optimization targeting high-frequency bots and wash trading, aimed at improving liquidity quality and narrowing spreads. Polymarket stated that long-term event markets, political markets, and non-crypto prediction markets remain unaffected, with limited overall impact on regular users.
