【Blockchain Movement】The Perp DEX market has seen significant activity recently. As of January 6, the overall trading volume of perpetual futures exchanges over the past 24 hours showed a notable increase, with market capital activity continuously rising.
The leading platform Hyperliquid performed exceptionally well, with daily trading volume reaching $7.49 billion, firmly securing the top position. What’s particularly noteworthy is that the platform’s open interest just hit a new high in nearly two months, reaching $8.73 billion, while total value locked also climbed to $4.32 billion. The signal is clear — new capital is continuously flowing into the market, and traders are increasing their leverage.
Looking at data from other major platforms gives a better sense of the heat in this market. Lighter and Aster followed closely behind, with 24-hour trading volumes at $5.81 billion and $5.61 billion respectively, with open interest on the two platforms at $1.5 billion and $2.73 billion respectively. This shows that it’s not just a single platform performing well, but the heat of trading enthusiasm across the entire DEX ecosystem has been ignited.
EdgeX also performed well, with trading volume of $4.37 billion, open interest of $912 million, and TVL reaching $357 million. Looking further, Variational had trading volume of $1.87 billion, Paradex had trading volume of $1.8 billion, and even relatively smaller Pacifica had 24-hour trading volume of $704 million.
What can we see from these numbers? First, market liquidity is sufficient, with each DEX sharing in this upside. Second, traders’s enthusiasm for leverage is high, with open interest continuing to grow. Third, capital is seeking yield opportunities, particularly on perpetual futures with high volatility. For those looking to participate in Perp trading, there are diverse platform choices and sufficient trading depth. But the risks need to be kept in mind — leverage is a double-edged sword. When market conditions are favorable, returns can double, but when volatility hits, losses can happen in seconds.
