On September 11, the Trump administration appealed the court's ruling to "prevent the removal of Federal Reserve Board Governor Cook." ( Jin10 ) On September 10, U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb temporarily blocked Trump's move to remove Federal Reserve Board Governor Cook. The court will issue an injunction directing Powell and the board to allow Cook to continue serving as a board member during the litigation. This means Cook can vote at next week's FOMC meeting (unless a higher court overturns the ruling regarding the restraining order before then).
