On July 8, according to reports, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent stated on the 7th local time that he expects to meet with Chinese officials in the coming weeks to advance discussions on trade and other issues. "I will meet with my Chinese counterpart sometime in the next few weeks," Bessent stated, "We had good talks in Geneva and London before, and both sides maintained a high level of respect."
