XAUm teams up with BitGo and Brink to upgrade institutional custody system, tokenized gold enters a new milestone

Abstract generation in progress

【Crypto World】Matrixport’s RWA platform Matrixdock recently announced a significant partnership—collaborating with digital asset infrastructure provider BitGo, with the participation of global precious metals services giant Brink’s, to bring true institutional-grade custody capabilities to the gold token XAUm.

This news is quite noteworthy. According to RWA.xyz, XAUm is already the third-largest tokenized gold product globally, making it a heavyweight player in terms of asset management scale.

The roles of the three parties are clearly defined: BitGo handles the core infrastructure for digital asset custody and compliance support, Matrixdock builds the asset tokenization system and implements on-chain transparency mechanisms, while Brink’s safeguards the physical gold vault. In simple terms, the entire chain—from physical storage to on-chain verification—is covered.

In terms of custody, institutional clients can hold XAUm through BitGo Trust Company Inc., a regulated qualified custodian. In practice, access permissions and fund transfers are managed via multi-signature and policy controls to ensure compliance with institutional security standards. This provides a more solid foundation for institutional investors.

It's that same combination of physical assets + on-chain, looking quite complete. XAUm is now the third largest? The competition is indeed fierce, and this upgrade might just push it forward. But honestly, whether institutions trust this setup depends on whether BitGo and Brink's have enough credibility.

The tokenization of gold has finally caught the attention of major institutions. The combination of BitGo+Brink's essentially brings the rigorous practices of traditional finance onto the blockchain, which is what institutions truly need. However, to be honest, being the third largest is just being the third largest; the key is whether it can truly lower the barriers for institutions to enter. Having a custody system alone is not enough.

Oh no, the combination of BitGo+Brinks is indeed strong. XAUm is about to take off. Is XAUm the third largest? Who are the other two? I'm a bit curious. Institutional-grade custody is finally no longer just talk on paper; the dual guarantee of physical assets and on-chain security is truly reliable. The three-party cooperation seems quite tight, but what if something goes wrong in one link... Never mind, I won't think about it. Tokenized gold still depends on who can truly make trust transparent. BitGo's move is quite clever. By the way, is Brinks' vault reliable? That's the core. Matrix Harbor is really going all in this time, betting on the explosive demand from institutions.

Wow, traditional vaults like Brink's are getting involved. Is tokenized gold really taking off? It doesn't seem like just hype anymore. With the combination of BitGo+Brink's, physical assets and on-chain assets can finally be matched up, which is much more reliable than just promises on paper. Is XAUm the third largest? That must be worth billions, institutions are really serious about playing RWA. The division of roles among these three is so clear it's almost like an SOP is written, haha. I'm a bit curious about how the new custody fees will be set; BitGo's compliance costs are definitely not cheap. But on the other hand, no matter how much cooperation there is, it can't withstand the temperament of the crypto world. How far it can go depends on how the market plays out.

Buddy, the combination of BitGo+Brink's really has some substance. The one-stop service from physical to on-chain is exactly what institutional players should look like. Securing the third largest position with XAUm is no joke; it seems tokenized gold is really about to take off. The custodial system has been improved, and now it depends on who can capitalize on this wave of institutional traffic. We still need to pay attention to subsequent developments. By the way, traditional giants like Brink's are willing to step in, which truly adds credibility to the entire industry. It's much more reliable than purely on-chain solutions. This approach makes sense—physical security + on-chain transparency + compliance support—three pillars built solidly. No wonder it can attract institutions. However, whether tokenized gold will be hot or not still depends on trading depth. All good architectures ultimately need real trading volume to speak for themselves.

The combination of BitGo+Brink is indeed powerful, offering a one-stop service for physical custody and on-chain verification. The final piece for institutional entry has been put in place.

This combination is quite powerful, BitGo + Brink's, it seems like they are determined to fully establish the physical gold route. Institutions have no reason not to jump on board now.
