Don't ignore it! Gate has launched GUSD, which is actually a "compliance gamble."
When Gate announced the launch of GUSD, many people simply brushed it off with a remark: "Another stablecoin, I guess." But upon closer inspection, this actually represents a gamble about future compliance.
GUSD represents the "most orthodox" stablecoin model: 1:1 dollar reserves, bank custody, and U.S. regulatory backing. Compared to those stablecoins propped up by market sentiment, it is more like the "top student" in the financial circle. Gate introducing it is undoubtedly a bet on the future trend of compliance, where investors will increasingly need such assets.
The problem is: compliance ≠ popularity. Users in the crypto space often do not care about "official endorsements"; they care more about whether they can enter and exit quickly and whether the price fluctuations are stimulating. GUSD needs time to accumulate liquidity and consensus to shine on Gate.
But I am optimistic: when the market truly reaches the stage of large funds and institutionalization, GUSD will become that kind of "back-row student who is always ready to answer when called upon." Gate's early布局 may be to secure a good position before the opportunity arises.
